Variaciones Trifotográmicas

Sinopsis:

This video is about expanding the possibilities of a seemingly simple element in time and space. I try to deploy some of the endless possibilities that its microcosm offers.

Defragmento1 is made entirely with a fragment collected from a super-8 film I made last year with my friend Francesco. The piece lasts 1 second and 12/10 in which we can see holes through the tape were light enters, and the sound of the moving tape that accompanies it. With that has been done all the video: only three different frames, darkness and the sound.

At first pass this piece is a slow speed and is repeated at increasing speeds. Then I played with several layers using lighten mode composition so you can see them all at once, at different speeds. I also mixed this resource with different displacement speeds in space. For example in a circle, spiral...

The sound has been often parallel to these changes in the image, but these are not equivalent stimuli. Not all the effects have been able to work in the sound resources. For example you can't put the sound in circles as with an image. Other times it sounds very usable formed parallel to the image. I have tried to work both simultaneously but the truth is that in other parts I had to work each of them separately. For this I sought the help of my brother Pedro Pino López. He is a Hip Hop Dj and works doing radio commercials. Although this exercise does not represent what he means by music, my brother has a great empathy and adaptability. We have used as material all the time the small fraction belonging to the super8 film that has been used throughout the video. We tried some of the parts together; hold onto others playing all the time with repetition, speed and placement as the only resource.
